Serums vs Moisturizers
The fact that your moisturizer remains as a protective coat on the top of your skin’s surface is precisely why you need to apply a beauty serum before moisturizing. Our serums allow the delivery of the ingredients you are paying for, to absorb into the layers where they are needed to fight the aging process.
The truth about molecular weight/size is the reason why our serums contain no oils or emulsifiers of any kind. We want the valuable anti-aging ingredients within the serums to absorb deep into the lower layers of the skin where they interact with the damaged cells, restoring youth and vibrancy.
With Beauty of Science 101® serums, you can be assured that all the ingredients in each formulation are of the optimal molecular size, strength, and purity, to deliver the highest level of healing possible, producing the very best results.
More About Our Serums
All of Beauty of Science 101 Serums are formulated using the purest ingredients at the highest recommended amounts. There are no fillers or unnecessary ingredients added to the serums that would take up the space for valuable, active ingredients. Because there are no added products in the formulas to thicken, the skin drinks in the serum immediately, absorbing the active ingredients so they can get to work on repairing your skin. It is recommended to allow for several applications of the serum before the skin reaches a balanced state. Once the skin is properly hydrated and nourished by the serums, less product will be needed, and you will notice tighter, smoother, supple, healthy, glowing skin.
Beauty of Science 101 Serums are designed to repair and nourish the skin with restorative properties, and are not meant as a final moisturizer. However, all serums contain hyaluronic acid which is a top skin hydrator. When applying serums to extremely dry skin, following with a good moisturizer is recommended. All moisturizers on the market are designed to remain on the skin's surface to hold in moisture. Application of a moisturizer after applying the serums will allow the serum to absorb deep into the dermas first, without interference from a moisture protective barrier.
Keeping Retinol and Vitamin C Separate
All of Beauty of Science 101 Serums, with the exception of the Retinol Renew and Restore Serum, contain Vitamin C in combination with other beauty ingredients tailored to specific needs. Both Retinol and Vitamin C contain extremely beneficial properties that heal, restore, and protect the health of your skin. Please note that Retinol and Vitamin C, when mixed within the same serum, or applied too quickly during the same beauty routine, will cancel out the effectiveness of one another and should never be combined at the same time.
When using our Retinol Renew and Restore Serum combined with our other products, we recommend applying the Retinol Serum at nighttime. If choosing to combine the Retinol with another of our serums at nighttime, be sure to allow a few minutes between applications to allow each serum to absorb completely before apply the second. This process will insure the effectiveness of both products.
At Beauty of Science 101, we want to make choosing the proper beauty serum for your specific needs Simple. Many choose to implement more than one serum into their daily beauty routine, as I do, in order to target various skin care issues.
